Let's Talk About the Elephant in the Room? Is Netflix Winning over your To Do List?

Netflix or your to do list

Hey there, friends! Quick question: Ever have that one day in your week where you're all geared up to tackle that ever-growing home to-do list, but somehow end up doing... well, absolutely nothing? Yep, been there, done that!

After a hectic week, it's no wonder we collapse onto the couch and dive into a Netflix binge. The longer we stay put, the harder it becomes to muster up the motivation to get moving and tackle those tasks. It's just so tempting to sink into that comfy spot and let the hours slip by. But then, come evening, when we finally glance around, it hits us: not a single thing on our to-do list has been crossed off. And that sinking feeling sets in as we realize those tasks won't magically disappear by next week. Cue the guilt trip.

So, let’s take a moment to look at some of the reasons this may be happening to us.

Let's face it, clutter has a way of creeping up on us, doesn't it? From the piles of paper on the kitchen counter to the mountain of laundry waiting to be folded, it's like a never-ending battle. And when our surroundings are in chaos, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and demotivated. Instead of tackling the clutter head-on, we find ourselves opting for the temporary escape of a Netflix binge. After all, it's hard to focus on productivity when there's clutter staring us down at every turn.

Picture this: you're knee-deep in a Netflix marathon, and suddenly, the munchies hit. So, what do you reach for? Maybe it's a bag of chips or some leftover pizza from the fridge. While these snacks might satisfy your cravings in the moment, they're not exactly fueling your body for success. When we don't nourish ourselves with the right foods daily, we're left feeling sluggish and depleted, making it even harder to find the motivation to get up and tackle our to-do list.

Sure, that day of rest might seem like the perfect opportunity to catch up on some much-needed sleep. But if we're being honest, how often do we actually prioritize rest during the rest of the week? Late nights, early mornings, and endless to-do lists can leave us running on empty by the time our self-care day rolls around. So instead of feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, we're left feeling drained and lethargic – hardly the recipe for a productive day.

Finally raise your hand if you're guilty of over-scheduling yourself! In today's fast-paced world, it's all too easy to bite off more than we can chew. We pack our schedules to the brim with commitments, appointments, and obligations, leaving little room for rest and relaxation. And when that one precious day off finally arrives, we're too exhausted to do anything but collapse onto the couch and zone out in front of the TV. It's a vicious cycle that leaves us feeling burnt out and unfulfilled.

In the coming weeks

I want you to stay tuned for some real talk on reclaiming your mojo and crafting a home that's not just clutter-free but brimming with positive vibes.
